To the surprise of everyone ( most especially myself ) I was roused from a great feast

to stand before their Excellencies Northkeep

for what I had not a clue

when to my utter shock and surprise

 I was given the award of the " Sable Crane " ( and yes ,I was fully clothed this time ; )
thanx to all that had anything to do with the award !, now I have to try to prove I'm worthy to wear it .

 the below " commentary " is a combination of my own thoughts

 and things I've heard in 26 + years of playing this ever more political  game.

And is in no way anyone else's " official " view.

 

It has long been held that " service " isn't " SERVICE  " until a " PELICAN "  Proclaims it so !

As well as the view that :

Teaching isn't " TEACHING " until you can teach a " LAUREL " to do it as well as you do .

I personally believe that people who are paying full site fee's

and spending up to 23 hours out of a 44 hour event working to make sure that others have a good time,

( not counting hours of pre-planning and preparation )

especially when these same people do this at almost every event they go to .

is indeed a "  SERVICE " to local group, kingdom and society !!
